Research interests
I am currently focusing on Great Tits behaviour and especially on sexual selection related to factors influencing mate choice. As an intern, I have the opportunity to work on several projects such as 1) mate choice in a global warming context. I am studying if the origin of the bird determines the choice of partner (forest tits and urban tits) 2) cognitive performance in Great Tits as part of the ANR-EvolCog coordinated by Dr. Blandine Doligez (CNRS - Univ. Lyon 1, France) and Dr. Laure Cauchard (Swiss Ornithological Institute, Switzerland). I am working on cognition in a changing world: exploring the evolutionary potential of cognitive performances in the wild. A multi-population study of factors shaping variation in problem-solving performance in great tits.
My work in evolutionary and behavioral ecology on various topics allows me to mix office and field work throughout the season.

Research interest
My PhD work focuses on the vocal communication in two species of burrowing petrels in Kerguelen: the Blue Petrel (Halobaena caerulea) and the Antarctic Prion (Pachyptila desolata). During the breeding period, these seabirds occupy burrows in crowded colonies and they are vocally active at night. In this context, acoustic and olfactory communications may play a major role in information exchange. While recent studies investigated the function of olfaction, the vocalizations remain poorly studied.
The aim of my PhD is to study :
the stable and temporary information transmitted in male calls
the role of male calls in sexual selection
