Biogéographie et écologie des vertébrés

The Biogeography and Vertebrate Ecology (BEV) team studies eco-evolutionary mechanisms that generate biodiversity (from the intraspecific level to communities) and its spatial and temporal dynamics in response to environmental pressures (climatic, anthropogenic). In addition to methods traditionally applied in ecology (inventories, population and landscape dynamics and genetics, biotelemetry, long-term monitoring), the team promotes new and rapidly developing technologies for conservation (genomics, environmental DNA, bioinformatics, biosensors), while placing a strong emphasis on using the knowledge gained from this research to contribute to the implementation of public policies for nature protection and management.
