Dr Erwan Delrieu-Trottin joined the CEFE in 2021 as an Associate Professor from Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes. His research focuses on the origin and dynamic of biodiversity, working at the scale of species and populations. He works on the spatial and temporal dynamics of biodiversity by relying on traditional and next generation sequencing technologies. In the context of an unprecedented biodiversity crisis, the use of the molecular tool makes it possible to identify essential areas of conservation and to assess populations connectivity and the determinants of species assemblages. (e.g. environment, connectivity). He is particularly interested in tropical freshwater and marine fishes, which led him to work on projects related to different biodiversity hotspots, in the South Pacific (French Polynesia, Easter Island), South America, Indonesia and Africa.
