Thèmes de recherche :
I’m a PhD student supervised by Florence Volaire and Cyrille Violle. My research work aims to explore the intra-specific variability of functional traits associated with differences in adaptive ecological strategies within a broadly distributed perennial herbaceous species. Most specifically, I’m interested in constraints underlying patterns of traits in general and those underlying the expected compromise between growth potential and stress survival in particular. To explore these issues, my work is based on the exploration of functional trait variations and co-variations among 22 populations of Dactylis glomerata originating from a large latitudinal gradient (from Norway to Morocco) cultivated in a common garden in Montpellier (France) during one year. In addition, my experiment also compared ecotypes and cultivars of this species, in order to determine if artificial selection could have affected some trait-trait relationships.
