I am a quantitative ecologist. I specialize in population ecology and ecological statistics (mark-recapture, occupancy, etc.). My current work mostly focusses on studying the impacts of wind energy development on bird populations.

About me

My work is at the crossroad between fundamental research and conservation. My biggest motivation is to understand and mitigate the impact of human activities on biodiversity. My main area of interest is population ecology. Therefore, my research mostly focusses on impacts at the population scale, but not exclusively. The methods I use rely heavily on modeling (demographic projections, in particular) and statistical analysis of wildlife monitoring data (counts, capture-recapture, occupancy). I work closely with many biodiversity stakeholders, on projects involving a wide range of vertebrate taxa: seabirds, land birds, terrestrial mammals, seals and amphibians.

Currently, my research is focused on studying the impact of the energy transition, particularly the development of wind power, on birds. As part of the MAPE project, I developed a Shiny application (EolPop) to quantify the demographic impact of bird collisions with wind turbines. I then developed the EolPower application, which helps defining the study design of carcass search surveys that are carried out on wind farms to estimate avian mortality. Since 2022, I have been working on the BIRD DYNAMIC project, which aims to estimate the cumulative impact of offshore wind farms on seabird populations along the French Atlantic coast.
