RESEARCH Dynamics and Governance of Ecological Systems Dynamics and Adaptation of Plant Populations

The Dynamics and Evolution in Plant Populations Group

We are interested in ecological and evolutionary processes in plants, particularly to changes in life history traits involved in the process of adapting contemporary (phenology, dispersal, floral traits, mating system, ...) in spatially and temporally heterogeneous environments.

A specificity of our approach is to link ecological dynamics and evolutionary dynamics by using tools from population dynamics (demography, metapopulation dynamic) and those from population genetics and quantitative genetics.
The research theme we develop is based on theoretical and empirical, through long-term field studies and setting up experiments in controlled or semi-controlled environments.

Our study models are mostly flowering plants in recently disturbed ecological systems (urban, heavy metal contaminated sites ...)

Keywords: Evolutionary Ecology - features of life stories - Demographics - Population Genetics and quantitatively-Metapopulation theory.
